Today's Style Crush features a designer that I have been internet stalking for at least the past 6 months. I came across this designer thanks to facebook, I think her fan page popped up in my ads. I quickly liked her page and now read everything the designer posts. The line is called Stella Jean, the model turned designer is half-Italian, half-Haitian. Her ethnic background has inspired her clothing line mixing East African prints with a modern aesthetic.Stella Jean launched her first collection in July 2011, after the designer won a contest sponsored by Vogue Italy AltaRoma:'Who's on Next'! "Stella's designs marry draping in the style of Vionnet with an understanding of the importance of shaping the dress directly on the body: "because the body has three dimensions, we cannot trust the paper".
