This Month's Obsession!!!

This Month's Obsession!!!

Often I see a trend or an accessory that takes over my mind. I see it, I fall in love with it and then I obsess about it. Once the feeling hits me, I go into research mode then I must have it, so I buy it. Then I buy it again in three more colors or variations in styles. Yes, if I love it then I need to have options and options. Then soon after, I have moved on to a new love. Today my obsession is...

ANIMAL PRINTS!!!

Last month I posted three looks from a weekend where I incorporated leopard print into each outfit. This month I have been crazy over animal prints especially the leopard. So that no one thinks I discriminate against other animal prints I want to share with you some fun examples of pieces and looks to look forward to this spring. Animal prints were shown on many runways for spring 2014. Some designers that included animal prints and skins were MiuMiu, Ashish and Temperley London.

I have been wearing animal prints a lot this season so I am excited about seeing the trend continued for Spring. I have seen animal prints in a lot on television worn by talk show hosts and even on celebrities for cosmetic commercials so it's clear it will be big this year. In doing some shopping research I located quite a few fun pieces and accessories. Most of them are $100 and under! Check them out!

I have a ladies group that I plan events for each month. This year's theme is Brunch, Booze & Body. So this month I planned a ladies brunch at Matt the Miller, Grandview, Ohio. We ate, we drank and we laughed. I love this group of women because they are positive and funny. It is a time of the month when I know I will have fun and really let my hair down. It was kind of nice out so I lost my coat for the day and layered a few tops under a blazer. This is what I wore.

Chris's/Kris's Closet (Kristin) Valentine's Day 2014

Kris's Closet

In this blog post you will get a glimpse of pieces in my closet, learn where I found them
 and where I wore them.
My name is Kristin. Welcome to my closet!

Valentine's Day I had dinner with my guy at Strongwater Food & Spirits. It was our first time checking out the restaurant and we were pleased with our selections. Afterward we ended up at an erotic art exhibit at the gallery in the back of the restaurant. It snowed hard and crazy all night but I refused to put on a coat so I selected a wool blend dress and a faux fur vest to keep warm. The dress and vest both had pockets so I decided against a handbag as well. I just threw my lipstick, gloss, id and phone in my pockets and was off. This is what I wore.

Dress:Vintage Liz Claiborne (similar dress in Spring weight)
Vest: Betsey Johnson
Belt:Vintage (Second-hand from Lincoln Mall Miami)
Cowgirl Boots: Crush by Durango from Boots Rocky Boot Outlet
Hoop Earrings: Nordstrom (similar earrings)
Leather Gloves: Charter Club
Signet Necklace: PersonalizeMeJewelry Etsy

I have two items I want to talk about that I have never worn on the blog, my boots and my signet necklace. The boots I got last year for my birthday. You will see them a lot this Spring/Summer because western elements and cowboy boots are on trend for the warm seasons this year. The necklace, my mom bought me for Christmas. I have always wanted a signet necklace and now I wear it almost daily. They are both two of my new favorite things in my wardrobe at the moment.

Kris's Closet

In this blog post you will get a glimpse of pieces in my closet, learn where I found them
 and where I wore them.
My name is Kristin. Welcome to my closet!

Last Saturday afternoon I went to a birthday party at a bar called Retro with my sister for one of the nicest people I know. We ate, we drank and danced. It was a really nice party and I was happy to be there.  I take care of my mom during the day, who has heart disease, so Friday I never had a reason to get dressed. Since I didn't get to wear red on 'Wear Red Day', I wore red Saturday. I have worn this dress on the blog before but changed everything I wore with it before. This is what I wore.

Cape Coat: Ralph Lauren (similar coat)
Scarf: Chelsey
Dress:Kenneth Cole Reaction (similar dress)
Ties Blouse:Ohio Thrift Store (similar blouse
Leggings:Shoppers World
Belt:White House Black Market(similar belt
Hoop Earrings: Nordstrom (similar earrings)
Leather Gloves: Charter Club

It is late in the season so if you want to duplicate this look,
you will find that most of these items are now on sale and
clearance. Spring is very present in the stores, magazines and some of the shows we watch. So everything we can wear now in this crazy winter weather has come down in price quite a bit. Luckily with it being Fashion Week for next fall/winter, it is a good time to take advantage of these sales and clearances. I like to check out the trends shown on the runways online and shop for a few items that will carry over into the next fall/winter season. You can save money that way and will find yourself on trend for that season.
