My take on fashion...

My two favorite fashion era's are the 50's and the 80's. I love the glamour and the femininity of the 50's. That era just makes you feel like a lady. I love the free spirit of the 80's, it was just a fun time, the big hair, the bright colors, it still excites me. I like clothes that are fun, tu tu's and converse are my faves, but not necessarily paired together. A great mini skirt and accessories are a must. Extras like gloves, lacey socks, hair accessories, leg wear, hats, scarves, all of those are in my closet. I am trying to add more vintage looks into my wardrobe, I am in love with Madewell and Anthropologie.

Where I have been...

I graduated from The Ohio State University where I received a B.S. in Apparel Product Development. Before graduation I interned at Seventeen Magazine in NYC. Working closely with editors, showrooms, designers, models and photographers had always been my dream, and my dream was fulfilled during my time at Seventeen. I even got my 15 minutes of fame when I was asked to  model in the magazine, of course I said yes.

After my experience I knew that I wanted to be a fashion stylist.  I was unable to stay in NYC even after a second stint there, which is why ChristinaKristin was created, bringing fashion to myself rather than not pursue it at all.  After working in sales at BCBG Max Azria, doing visuals at Express and managing an urban clothing store, I realized that retail was not for me and went into the education field. ChristinaKristin is my side hustle, but one day soon it will be my full time career!

I am passionate about...

Natural hair, vegetarianism, and ways to better my life.  I have been transitioning to become a full fledged vegetarian for too long, but I have cut out most meats except for chicken and fish. I am also obsessed with making my life better, I  love inspirational books and blogs. The one blog I am feelin' right now is www.happyblackwoman.com. One day, I will become a life coach, after I get my life together...lol!

I have been natural a little over 2 1/2 years, and I am so proud of my hair. The picture on the far left is from December 2010, and the last picture on the right is recent 2013. I decided to go natural out of boredom, I was tired of my long straight hair and my hair stylist suggested I go natural, at first I thought she was crazy, but now I'm in love!

You can find me...

Window shopping at Anthropologie, eating good food at an upscale restaurant, listening to live music, at a winery,  hanging out with my girls, or at home creating jewelry.
