Chris's/Kris's Closet (Christina)

Chris's Closet

Last Sunday, Kristin and I had a Sunday Funday at Zauber Brewing Co., and I had an excuse to get dressed up. We enjoyed beer and Poke bowls. I am in love with this skirt, I got it in Brooklyn and the Williamsburg Mini Mall, I don't remember the price, but I'm pretty sure it was under $20. I'm stuck in this crop top and skirt look right now, I don't know what I'll do when Fall gets here.

Chris's Closet

Day

This was one of those rare occasions when I changed clothes twice in one day. If I know I will be doing something during the day and night, I  will usually wear something that is appropriate for both events. In this case my day outfit was appropriate for my night event, but I had to stop home in between festivities to wait on the goldfish I was pet sitting, and I took the opportunity to change. The romper I wore to the Tour de Fat was a bit uncomfortable, and I got tired of having to pee naked, so I decided to switch it up since I was at home anyway.

Romper: Vintage shop in Brooklyn

Night

My night outfit was cute and so comfy, adding the backpack gave me that loungy school girl feel. I was going to a listening party for the Jay-Z 4:44 album, and this look was very appropriate. The event was at a members only club, it felt very house-partyish.  I wanted to keep my boho look that I had earlier in the day, but less rocker. I kept on the same shoes, and some of the same jewelry.

Chris's/Kris's Closet (Christina)

A guy I know recently started practicing photography, he asked me to be his test subject and I quickly obliged. One day after work I put a look together and we met downtown, more specifically in the Short North, a trendy area of Columbus. I have to say this was the most relaxed, yet fun-filled photo shoot I've done. We walked through the streets finding cool locations to shoot, and at the end we stopped to cheers our newfound partnership.

Chris's Closet

On Saturday, Kristin and I met at Rehab Tavern for a Crawfish Boil. I've only seen crawfish in pictures, never ate them. So this event was an experience. I must say I am not a big fan of crawfish, but I did enjoy the sausage, corn, potatoes and beer.

After spending a couple of hours at Rehab we walked over to Land Grant Brewery and had a Mexican Lager and mini burgers. The afternoon was cool, and we met new people.

I didn't really know what to wear to this event, so I just threw something together. My hair was a hot mess, which is why I wrapped it up. My look turned out better than I expected.

Chris's/Kris's Closet (Christina) September 11, 2016

Chris's Closet

Recently, I had girl time with Kristin and a good friend who was visiting from Atlanta. It was just a casual meet up at her hotel where we enjoyed food, drinks, and conversation.  I figured wearing this cotton shirt dress would be perfect, it's stylish, yet comfortable. I have to tell you about the company where I purchased this versatile piece. I don't do much online shopping, but when I do it's because I really want the item.

The company eShakti sells women's fashion sizes 0-36. Their slogan is We design. You  customize. That's exactly what they did. I went to the website, browsed through hundreds of dresses that for the most part are simple, aside from the  printed options, and I fell in love with the silhouettes that were shown. I've never really been able to wear a shirt dress that did not drown my petite frame, but having the ability to input my measurements ensured that the dress would fit properly. After I put my measurements in I was able to choose the length, the sleeve length and if I wanted pockets or not. I LOVE pockets so I was excited about that.

Once you place your order it ships out in exactly 10-14 days. I really appreciated the packaging because the delivery guy threw or hid, maybe, the box in the bushes where it sat for a couple days (because I didn't know it was there) and it had rained. But when I opened the box my dress was inside of plastic so no harm done. The dress was neatly pressed and folded, I could literally wear the dress right out of the box. The dress is 100% cotton, and it fit great. I decided to belt it, but it fits so well that I could definitely go without the belt. I loved that the dress fit my frame and it looks chic and stylish. They added my pockets :) and it was over the knee as I requested.

Please check out their website www.eShakti.com. This might be my new favorite place to shop. Chris's/Kris's Closet (Christina) July 16, 2016 Detroit

Chris's Closet

This past weekend my sister and I drove 3 and a half hours to Detroit to celebrate my grandfather's 80th birthday. I don't see my grandparents as often as I would like, therefore I was so excited to share this special occasion with them. Upon arrival to Detroit we sat with my grandmother and talked for hours, then we went to my aunt's house where the party was being held and helped prepare for the festivities. I made about 50 Hawaiian chicken shish kebabs, while my sister prepared jerk chicken shish kebabs. After that I was in a hurry to get dressed, I had this fear that the party would start before I could change clothes. That would have been bad.

This birthday party was the best house party I've been to in a long time. Most of my family was there, the food was plentiful and delicious, and alcoholic beverages were available. That makes for a perfect party. We all sat around talking, laughing and catching up. My grandfather had his favorite coconut cake with firecracker candles, it was awesome. He had such a great time, this was definitely a memorable event. I miss him already!

I knew it would be a long day and that we would hang out with my cousins later, so I chose an outfit that I could wear from day to night.

Chris's/Kris's Closet (Christina) June 26, 2016 ComFest Day 3

Chris's Closet

The last day of ComFest was bittersweet for me. On one hand I was glad it was going to be over because of the long hours and hot weather, but on the other hand it felt perfect to be working those long hours selling my jewelry, meeting my customers, and making my own rules. I must say going back to my job on Monday was a bit challenging. But that's besides the point!!

The tunic I wore was a thrift store find featured in our ChristinaKristin Thrift Adventure. I had been so excited to wear it and I finally had the opportunity to put it on. It was super comfortable, and I DIY'd my sandals just for this look. I love this hat, but with the heat it had it to go, I put it back on for the pictures!:)

Saturday was a bit better for me because I was well rested and mentally more prepared and organized to help manage our booth.  Again I wanted to be comfortable and stylish, so I decided to wear my favorite summer pants and a tank. I threw on simple accessories and I was ready to go.

Chris's/Kris's Closet (Christina) June 24, 2016 ComFest Day 1

Chris's Closet

This weekend was pretty festive and a bit exciting. Kristin and I enjoyed our first vendor opportunity of the year at ComFest. ComFest is a big deal in our city and possibly the state. ComFest is short for Community Festival, it has been happening annually since the early 70's. People love it because it is a festival that celebrates togetherness, individuality and freedom. You will hear live music from local artists, creative vendors, you will be able to register to vote and help to legalize marijuana if you choose.  For more info on this festival please visit http://www.comfest.com/index.php.

Friday I chose to wear something comfortable and stylish. I knew I would be sitting and standing all day and I wanted to be prepared.

ChristinaKristin Closet Clean Out!!!

As published stylists, we find ourselves sometimes with too many items laying around. We decided it was time we find a way to get rid of some of the items from our style closet and our personal closets as well. We opened Poshmark accounts a while ago to try to rid ourselves of a lot of things. Recently we decided it would be a great idea to start a post highlighting the new pieces we post to Poshmark weekly. We will post this blog series once at the end of each month. We introduce to you our first 'ChristinaKristin Closet Clean Out!'

You have seen us wearing some of these pieces in our Chris's/Kris's Closet posts. We have worn the items with love and some items not at all but now they all need new homes. Here are a few items available right now.

BLAZERS FOR LAYERING

I love a fun blazer with a graphic or fun pattern! These three blazers are all under $20 on Poshmark this month! We still have a few months of winter left and these blazers are great layering pieces that will get you through the cold and into Spring. To shop the items or get details, click on the titles above the photos.

Abstract Floral Blazer
This blazer is so versatile, you can dress it up or down. Wear it with jeans and a sequin top for a night out or wear it with a solid tee or button up and slacks for a cute work outfit. Both the blazer and the sequin top are available!

Navy & Orange Houndstooth Blazer
This blazer is a retro Gianni Sport blazer. It would be fun over a graphic tee or a solid button up shirt and jeans.

Rainbow Tweed Blazer
The blazer can be paired with so many colors. It literally features every color in the rainbow. This blazer is also very versatile. I looks good with slacks, denim or a pencil skirt. You can find a close up of the print on the site.

For more items check out our Poshmark accounts by clicking on Shop Kris's or Chris's Closet at the menu tab or follow the live links below. Look for new items every week on Poshmark and our ChristinaKristin Closet Clean Out post right here monthly!

Chris's Closet

I am Christina, the hot pink of ChristinaKristin. Welcome to my closet!

Saturday the 29th, I celebrated my 35th birthday! Yes, 35, I'm still getting used to saying that. I was really unsure of what to do, but I knew that I wanted to do something that I had never done before, so I delegated the job of planning to Kristin. She is such a good planner, I knew that she would be up for it. We started early in the afternoon, the first stop was the Urban Scrawl. "Urban Scrawl is a 2-day arts festival organized by the Franklinton Arts District featuring the live creations of murals by talented artists from Central Ohio and beyond."

We did a beer tasting at a local brewery Land Grant. I have been more interested in beer these days, I guess my taste buds are getting old. I enjoyed 4 different beers that were brewed right here in town. Next stop was lunch at Strongwater, the food was amazing and the drinks were even better. Last stop for more alcoholic beverages was Rehab Tavern, we ran into an extremely intoxicated man who entertained us and bought drinks. Overall, I enjoyed my celebration. I was back home around 6:30 pm, took a nap and then danced the night away at a club. This is what I wore!

Tank: Mossimo, Target
Jeans: Hudson, Gift
Shoes: not rated, TJ Maxx

Chris and Kris!!
P.S. Every year for my birthday I get my hair straightened, I love the way it turned out. Don't worry I'll be back curly soon!

Until Next Time,

Chris!!
