Chris's/Kris's Closet (Kristin) October 20, 2012

Kris's Closet

Inspired by great bloggers like Folake of Style Pantry and Tamia of The Style Sample, we decided to open up our closets to the world as well. We are ChristinaKristin of Columbus,Ohio. We are two women close in age, with two different takes on style and completely different personalities. My style is usually wild, bold, adventurous and colorful. I would use the same words to describe my personality and life. My name is Kristin. Welcome to my closet!

DAY to Night Looks
This closet blog is a little different this week. I had a very busy Saturday. I had a few places to go and not much down time. There wasn't time to change clothes from my day activities to night. So I chose a dress that I could wear for the day and night and packed a bag with a change of accessories and lip color for the evening.

Day
Saturday I watched the Ohio State & Purdue game with my dad, then my family went to the new Hollywood Casino to check it out. We had an early dinner at the Casino Buffet.Very good! Then I met up with my fella and we headed to the Circleville Pumpkin Show. We watched the parade, checked out the large pumpkins and ate junk. I ended my night at Lounge 62 for the weekly event called Prime. One of my besties was celebrating her birthday there. Love you Yima! I took my day pictures at the Casino. This is what I wore.
I love mixing patterns. It is something I do often, in style or not. Since I wanted to be appropriate for both day and night and it was kind of nice out, I decided on this cotton striped dress with lace detail. The lace was hidden under the jacket during the day. I got this dress in Cincinnati at TJ Maxx a couple years ago.
The tribal printed jacket is a thrift store buy. I bought just outside of Cincinnati. The studded belt is from the Ohio Thrift store. It is a closet blog regular.
My sunglasses have become a closet blog regular. They are vintage Liz Claiborne.
These earrings are from a vendor at the International Festival we have at Vets Memorial in Columbus, Ohio once a year.
The handbag is DKNY. It is over ten years old, originally from Marshall Fields when there was a City Center Mall in Columbus. It is leather with colored piping. I took this purse from my mom.  My ring is a closet blog regular. It is a piece I picked up from the Macy's Festival a couple year ago.
Remember these? I just bought these cowboy boots last week during my Style Adventures at Caesar Creek Flea Market. You can find great cowboy boots at http://www.zappos.com
Night
Saturday night I was meeting some friends to celebrate my friend Gayima's Birthday. I kept on the dress I wore earlier and swapped out my earrings, belt, shoes and purse. I also changed my barbie pink lip to fall's oxblood lip color. I did the swap in the car before I went into the lounge. I took these pictures at Lounge 62 on the back patio.
This sexy lace back is what I was hiding earlier under my tribal blazer. I removed the blazer to reveal my favorite part of the dress but also to stay cool in a room full of people producing heat in the lounge.
I swapped my studded leather belt for this vintage decorative piece. I bought this belt a few years ago from a seller on etsy.
My earrings I picked up from a vendor at the Macy's Festival a few years ago. It's funny, I just saw them on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta recently. I bought these same earrings for my sister as well.

I switched my DKNY handbag to a sequin (Grayson) Michael Kors handbag. My fella bought me this last Christmas. I have seen some of these bags on ebay and other auction sites. My ring is a skull that my mom bought me a week ago from Nordstrom. I located a cute skull ring on etsy at http://www.etsy.com/listing/92533522/sugar-skull-ring-in-sterling-silver-with?ref=sr_gallery_9&ga_search_query=skull+ring&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=all

This concludes another Kris's Closet. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Be blessed! Be free! Be fashionable!
