In March I learned I won a one of a kind Tumi tote designed by Brother Vellies, an emerging designer brand that was selected to participate in the Americans in Paris program, described as an initiative of the CFDA/VOGUE Fashion Fund that was created to introduce American Designers to the global market. These designers receive the honor of showing their collections during Paris Fashion Week. Each participating designer also creates a special one of a kind tote for Tumi, an underwriter of the American in Paris program. I entered to win a bag earlier this year and forgot about it until a curious email showed up in my inbox saying I'd won one of the bags. Who doesn't love a designer bag, and a free one at that? Not to mention a bag that NO ONE else will ever have.
Upon winning the bag, I fell in love with the Brother Vellies brand, founded by Aurora James. She created the brand with the goal of introducing the world to her favorite traditional African footwear and to create jobs for artisans in South Africa, Kenya and Morocco. This brand creates beautiful wares and the social responsibility is to be admired. I love my bag so much that I wanted to share this brand and it's inspiration with you. I am closing this post with images of my bag and some of my favorite images of Aurora James and Brother Vellies products.

Even though I received this tote by chance, I still want to say thank you to Tumi, CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund and Brother Vellies for my beautiful tote. I have gotten so many compliments on it!
Until next time,
Be blessed! Be free! Be fashionable!
