Yesterday I went to Scioto Audubon park to enjoy a group of drummers and dancers who have come together for five years annually for drumming,dancing and fellowship. I took my hola hoop and got a little exercise in before I was due to attend a baby shower at one of my favorite bars. One of my favorite bartenders is expecting a little princess in the fall.I got to decorate a bib, ate really good brisket and fawned all over the mom to be. This was yesterday's look.

Kris's Closet

Inspired by some great bloggers, my partner and I decided to start our own blog. In this blog post you will get a glimpse of pieces in my closet,learn where I found them

 and where I wore them.

Saturday I organized and attended a party for my girlfriend's belated birthday. We had Jamaican food, rum punch and reggae music. Afterward I took some out of town guests out to the Arena District and we bar hopped. I took these photos in the backyard of the house where we had the party. This is what I wore.

I love the warm weather months and my warm weather accessories and clothing. Right on trend with stripes, this dress I have had for many years now. The striped strapless dress is by Liquid. I bought it at the Barney's Outlet store in some suburb of New York. Check out the similar dresses below.

Kris's Closet

Inspired by great bloggers like Folake of Style Pantry and Tamia of The Style Sample, we decided to open up our closets to the world as well. We are ChristinaKristin of Columbus,Ohio. We are two women close in age, with two different takes on style and completely different personalities. My style is usually wild, bold, adventurous and colorful. Saturday I watched half of the Ohio State game with my dad and watched the other half at The Day Party at Long Street Live with Christina. Afterward I tried to enjoy the party. I am starting to feel like I am too old to be at some of these events. Anyhow, we left the party and Chris and I had dinner at Hyde Park. We ended our night at the Sushi Rock Anniversary Party. I took these photos in front of Hyde Park. This is what I wore.

I wore a black button-up with puffy sleeves. I got it from the Ohio Thrift Store but it is originally from Limited. Black button-ups should be easy to find right now.

My skirt is an ethnic/tribal printed high-low skirt that I bought during a Style Adventures blog in August at Roses Department Store for $7.50. Saturday I went to Scioto Downs Racino with my fella and Christina aka Chris. We met my sister and some of her friends there to celebrate my sister's birthday. It was a good time! My fella, Chris and I had dinner in the Clubhouse where Chris and I helped my fella pick horses to bet on. We watched and bet on the races while we ate. We also played the slot machines once my sister got there. I am not a gambler but since you got free money to play on your first visit there, I thought what the heck. I got $25 for free to play and won $25 back. At least I left $25 richer than I started. We stayed there for most of the night then ended up at a lounge that I am not a fan of. I guess I am getting old so I only lasted maybe an hour before I was ready to go home. I took these pictures at Scioto Downs. This is what I wore.

I wore a leopard print strapless jersey dress that a friend of the family gave me a few years ago. It fits no matter how much I gain or lose because of the stretch so it is one of my favorite dresses. The tag fell off a while ago so I am not sure who made it anymore. The pink cotton jacket is from the thrift store. I think an Ohio Thrift Store. It came with culottes that I will probably never wear. Click on links to view similar items.

Scioto Downs is a good time!

Saturday was a miserable and hot day! I went to Lexington, Ohio for the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. I did not know that these car races were three hours long. Grey's Anatomy fans, Patrick Dempsey (Mc Dreamy) was there racing in the Le Mans Series. I added a picture of his car at the end of today's blog. I was sitting outside in 93 degree temperatures in a captains chair sweating but not enough to keep myself from feeling faint. Then when the fella and I couldn't take it anymore we left and headed toward home. We stopped at a flea market in Chesterville then went to a party to celebrate my friend's husband graduating from the Columbus Fire Department Academy. Go Elijah! I took my photos in the park next to their condo.This is what I wore.

My dress I got from Kohls this week on the clearance rack in the juniors department for $10. It is by Mudd. I loved the ethnic look of it and it was very comfortable when I tried in on in the store. It ties and gathers at the waist and has a crochet back. Friday I spent some time with a friend Naima from high school who had just graduated from the school of Aveda. She came over and we played catch up while she did my nails and toes for me because they really needed some help. Thank god for her! Then I got dressed to go to dinner with my fella at Mary Kelly's in Dublin. We took these photos out front before we ate. I was not notified by my photographer aka the fella, that my bra strap was showing the entire time. =(
