Four Years!!!

It has been four years for us as bloggers but due to the social climate at the current moment, we have gotten a late start in celebrating. We all needed time to adjust and focus on the things around us that were really important. We have taken a moment to do just that and though there is still so much to be done, we have to figure out how to help resolve our issues while maintaining some normalcy in our lives. With everything going on, it was hard to celebrate anything, but Saturday we silently celebrated four years as bloggers. We have written four years of blogs about how we live our lives in style, how we save money on season trends and the small business brands that we have grown to love. We are so happy that you are still interested in what we have to say.  We want you to celebrate with us the rest of this month. We have a couple of giveaways planned, as well as new blog series we have been wanting to introduce for a while now.

The last few years we have interviewed each other for a series we call 'ChristinaKristin Talks'. This year we thought we would allow you to ask us questions that we will include in this post. We will be accepting questions on all of our social media outlets as well as the blog comment section. Ask us anything you have ever wanted to know? We will do our best to answer! We will take questions until Friday July 15. Check out our past 'ChristinaKristin  Talks' posts from past anniversaries below.

Chris's/Kris's Closet (Kristin) October 30, 2015

Kris's Closet

In this blog post you will get a glimpse of pieces in my closet, learn where I found them and where I wore them. My name is Kristin. Welcome to my closet!

A lot of you have seen this look on my instagram or facebook page but I decided to post it anyway to credit the garments. On my birthday last Friday, I wore this rock inspired look instead of playing Halloween dress up. I honestly get tired of being other people and things on my birthday sometimes, so I go through periods that I go on a Halloween dress up strike.  I went on a food tour with Christina and met a friend and her husband on the Alt Eats Tour with Columbus Food Adventures. I wanted to be cute but comfortable so I opted for a Scorpions rock band tee that I got in September at the Scorpions concert. I paired the tee with a pair of pants that I ironically wore the last time I did a Columbus Food Adventure tour. I added a fall sweater with tassels to keep me warm through the fall evening. This is what I wore.

Top: Scorpions concert tee
Pants: Xhilaration (old thrift find from 'Out of the Closet')
Sweater: Vince Camuto (old)
Boots: Timberlands (old)
Earrings:14th & union (last year's Birthday present from Christina)
Necklace: Passiana (old)

Until next time!

Count Down To Year 3 (Leather Anniversary)

In ten days we will be celebrating three years as bloggers. That makes it our leather anniversary! We are so excited about the month to come! The anniversary is July 9th but we have planned a month filled with great posts, ChristinaKristin discounts and a giveaway!

We met Saturday to do a little shopping at the West Gate community yard sale. We treated ourselves to some Thai food and then it was business as usual. We discussed our growth as bloggers and goals for the future of the blog and our crafts. We look forward to this new year and our many new ideas coming to realization. Look for updates to the blog and more access to ChristinaKristin through new outlets. More details on the way soon! We hope you had a great weekend! We will leave you with a few highlights from our weekend!

Kris's Closet

In this blog post you will get a glimpse of pieces in my closet, learn where I found them and where I wore them. My name is Kristin. Welcome to my closet!

Yesterday was the first day out with my nephew since his summer break began. We started our summer adventures with a tour of the American Whistle Corporation's Factory. There we walked through the entire process of creating a whistle and learned about the history of the company. My nephew snapped a few photos of me in front of the factory before the tour. This was what I wore.

I wanted to be comfortable so I put on my summer uniform, a tee and skirt. I also wore a pair of sneaker wedges because we had a lot of walking to do. As you can see, I am briefly wearing my hair straight.

Tee: Erika from Anderson's General Store
Skirt: Mossimo from Target
Belt: Vintage Thrift
Sneaker Wedges: Adidas
Necklace: Passiana
Bracelet: Was my grandma's
Handbag: B Makowsky
Sunglasses: Betsey Johnson

Until next time,

The Last Word by Karen Introduction

ChristinaKristin presents a new blog segment by Karen, my mom. We featured her in October as our 'Style Crush'; a blog post where we highlight stylish people or items that we admire and are inspired by. She was so popular we decided to make her a guest blogger. She will be closing every month with 'The Last Word by Karen'. The title is so appropriate because she loves to have the last word. As her daughter I have witnessed it for thirty plus years. I have also witnessed her incredible style and strength. She has inspired my personal style and encouraged me so much in my life dreams. I hope she will do the same for you; with that said, I am happy to share her with you once a month. Please take care of her and make her feel welcomed.

 Welcome to 'The Last Word',

Style is a personal thing, it is subjective. Wearing age appropriate clothing is also subjective, who is to say what trends one can follow after age 50? Are women over fifty relegated to wearing clothing with elastic waist, comfortable shoes and tunics. I say "nein."

Please join me in February as I discuss trends and style as they relate to women who have lived a half a century plus.

One day at a time, Karen.

Happy New Year!

 Happy New Year!

Last year was great! It was full of adventures and even some great outfits. We quietly celebrated year two of the blog. Chris and I both celebrated our natural hair anniversaries; my second and her fourth. I had my hair straightened in May for the first time since my natural hair journey(it lasted two days.) I rediscovered fashion and fell in love all over again.

Year 2015 seems bright. Christina wrote a fabulous business plan for the future of ChristinaKristin. I am excited to get organized in the new year and really get the business off the ground. We have so many plans and ideas and we hope that you will continue to be a part of it all.

Expect to see more of us this year! We will be posting more blogs and promoting more contests. We have plans to be more visible in Columbus and possibly your part of the world soon.
Thank you for all of the love and support.

Until next time,

Be blessed! Be free! Be fashionable!

Au revoir 2014!
